Listen to RUNNING WATER
Literal running water is so calming and appealing, we often want it to go on and on. Certain guitar solos have that wonderful quality too, as Don's certainly has. However this piece is the literal marginal movement, it has to be a short statement, a marginal one, it seems the only way to present such a huge concept - the imagination does the rest.
RUNNING WATER written and performed by Don Hooley. Instruments; Guitar (1974 Fender Stratocaster) an excerpt from his CD “Running Water Tributes & Blues” November 1999.
DON HOOLEY (1950 - 2013). In 1963 he purchased his first acoustic guitar in Woolworths for £5. During the late 60s he played with Potential Blues, and later The Ivory Bath Band. He went on to form Dithers a band of local legend in and around Surrey. His CD “Running Water Tributes and Blues” contains some of his finest compositions, and provides an insight into the diversity of his musical styles.
